Mergers & Acquisitions

Dee has significant experience of providing advice and project management support to merging practices. She can provide advice to help get you started, full project management support or guidance on a single area. 

Full project management support includes: 

  • Working with partners and Practice Managers to agree a project plan from the outset.

  • Chairing and minuting all steering group and sub-group meetings, bringing a strong “task and complete” ethos to proceedings.

  • Liaising with commissioners, accountants, lawyers and others on behalf of practices.

  • Overseeing all patient and stakeholder engagement exercises and liaising with the press as necessary, including writing all press releases. 

  • Formally representing partners from all practices in joint TUPE consultation exercises with staff.

  • Facilitating cross-practice working groups to bring about the alignment of clinical policies and procedures as well as ICT and business systems. 

 

By being independent, Dee is well-placed to ensure that all practices have an equal voice in decision-making and she brings a wealth of experience from previous mergers that she has supported.

 

Dee builds cross-practice teams at pace to ensure that staff and partners are central to decision-making and all necessary work is completed on time. As an ex-Practice Manager, Dee understands well the pressures of completing a merger alongside the usual “business as usual” demands of a busy GP Practice. 

 

Dee was invited to write three chapters for GP Business in 2013 (then Medeconomics) and again in October 2024 on:

  1. Practical issues involved with a practice merger

  2. Supporting staff through a practice merger

  3. Engaging with patients during a practice merger
